Twitgift is a simple, social way to give real gifts to your Twitter friends. It is available for the US market only. With Twitgift, you don’t even need to know the shipping address. Twitgift will send a “claims” tweet to the recipient, where they fill out their shipping address.

Twission is a web application a lot like Twitter Search. It lets you search what’s happening on Twitter right now. But it’s different in that the results are tagged with information about how you are connected to the people in the results.

To use it, you enter your search term and your Twitter username (no password required) and Twission returns the tweets as they happen in real time along with a special number that shows you how close that person is to your network. So for example, if you already follow them they’re tagged with the number one, or if they’re a friend of a friend then they’re tagged with the number 2 etc. So essentially it tells you the degrees of seperation between you and the people in the results.

One other nice feature is that for friends of friends, when you hover over the tagged number attached to the tweet you can see how many friends you have in common with that person.

It’s a great way to discover other people on Twitter that you might want to follow.

AddATweet is a new ‘commenting system’ for websites that is powered by Twitter. It is a Firefox plugin that allows you to leave a tweet/comment for any web page. It comes up as a browser sidebar.

As described by the developers,

Today, commenting systems are implemented by individual web sites and have no ability to talk to each other. Users are typically anonymous or must create accounts on each of these sites. Also, comments are often moderated, preventing people from truly being able to express themselves when their opinions are in contrast with those of the web site owner.

Tweet is in the air isn’t your regular Twitter application. It is a machine that makes the “twitter wall” concept way much cool and fun. Think about the tweets being projected in plain air, instead of being projected on a wall! The project was showcased on the 23rd of March 2010, during the PrForum event, a local Bucharest PR conference, as a live example for unusual Twitter usage.

It consists on a device that extracts the humidity from the air and projects it as a thin layer of water vapors, a special tuned projector able to display the tweets on the vapors, and a laptop that gather the tweets. Most of the parts of the device have been recovered from other devices. For example, the parts that collects the humidity from the air have been extracted from several air conditioning systems.
